hi! my partner recently bought a cassette player from eBay (General Electric model 3-5432B) and it was advertised as being great condition, but after playing (a brand new) tape for maybe 10 minutes, a loud buzzing started in one ear of the headphones.

the tape and headphones were tested on another player and were fine in a separate player, and the GE player did the same thing with multiple tapes and a different pair of headphones. so it's definitely an issue with the player.

when switched to AM & FM modes, the ear that had the buzzing seems to go silent.

does anyone have any idea what the issue might be? or have suggestions on how to fix it? (if a hard fix, suggestions on places that can service it are also appreciated!)
