I finished my program around 4-5 month ago but I haven’t taken my exam yet bc I feel super overwhelmed. When I take practice exams I get a low passing grade. I’m aiming for a really good grade on my exam so I can get a good externship and potentially sight hired. I’ve been studying daily but I still feel like there’s so much information to grasp. Ik the order of draw and their additives like the back of my hand at this point. I can tell you want the test if for based off the additive alone. My biggest set back is medical terminology and special draws. Can anyone share tips and give resources that’ll help me feel more confident about my exam bc I feel like re reading the same information obviously isn’t helping me pick up on some of the harder stuff.

Idk if this is just my pool but I’ve been lifeguard for around 3 years and myself am a very experienced swimmer. I’ve been employed at the same place and over the years with change in management the quality of staff has gone down drastically. For some reason my manager will not stop hiring people who can barely swim or don’t understand basic swim skills. I ask her why and she insists that these are the only people applying. But they let people pass without being able to do basic shit like climb out of the water or pass the pre requisites. It’s genuinely so frustrating as a lifeguard. And the swim instructor are arguably worse. From what it looks like they themselves don’t even know what a proper swim technique looks like. I had a coworker who would refuse to let his kids glide off the wall because he felt like it was cheating… wtf yo. Safe to say never rely on lifeguards to actually save your life bc some pools are literally hiring anyone. 🤦‍♀️
