NSFW Dead Kuhli Loach 🙁

NSFW Dead Kuhli Loach 🙁

I just got home a little bit ago to see a weird looking white thing at the bottom of my tank that looked like a root. When I picked it up, I was shocked to see that it was one of my Kuhli Loaches. Out of all of the fish in my tank to die this one is the first and the most surprising. I honestly expected a Corydoras to die since they are very young. This is my first fish to ever die (aside from childhood) and my only thought is why? I saw both loaches swimming around just two days ago and they seemed fine and even somewhat energetic. I have no clue what could’ve happened. For reference, I have a betta, four corydoras (i’m getting more as soon as my local fish store restocks), three Otos, three tetras, and two snails (i can’t find one of them). With my recent inability to find one of my snails paired with this death, I really feel like i’m doing something wrong even though all of the other fish seem happy and my water is a good temp+quality.

I know how rare Juliis are but i’ve see pictures of both side by side and these are pretty convincing. It might be difficult because these guys are still pretty young.
