Backrooms ambiguity

It’s funny how some people are complaining about Backrooms being confusing. I thought it was actually really on-the-nose. Like in the first 10 minutes of the movie the therapist monologued about the psyche as having different rooms etc and from that point on it was pretty clear what the entire film was going to be about. It’s a good movie, but there’s lots of exposition dump, and it unfortunately diluted the impact and mystery, for me at least. So I don’t understand both sides, the ones who say it’s confusing and “pointless”, but also the ones who say it’s brilliantly subtle/nuanced. Does anyone feel the same way?
(That being said maybe it is more nuanced than I think it is idk but I’m just saying like the main premise of it felt pretty spoonfed, so I’m surprised with both sides of people’s arguments)
