Want to weight loss

I genuinely want to lose weight, but I’m not sure how to get started. Can I really lose weight through dieting alone? I would greatly appreciate it if someone could offer some suggestions—specifically regarding what to eat, what to avoid, and how to maintain the routine—so that I can follow a long-term plan to lose 20 to 30 kg. My current weight is 105 kg, and I am 21 years old M. Please help me

“Work-life balance” was apparently just part of the interview script

Started a new job 3 months ago. During the interview they talked nonstop about “work-life balance” and we are like family here.

Now my manager sends messages at 11pm, expects replies on weekends, and acts annoyed if someone actually leaves on time.

Crazy how “family culture” at work usually just means “we want free overtime without calling it free overtime.”

How do you actually "shut down" your brain at 5 PM?

I have been working remotely for a while now, but I still struggle with the "invisible commute." When my desk is ten feet from my bed, I find myself checking Slack at 8 PM just because I’m bored.

Does anyone have a solid end of day ritual? I’ve heard of people going for a 10-minute walk just to simulate coming home, or literally covering their monitor with a cloth. What actually works for you to separate work life from home life?

What’s the most out-of-touch thing your boss/company has ever said while you were clearly struggling?

I’ll start.

Our team was drowning, people quitting left and right, everyone doing overtime for weeks. Management called a “wellness meeting” and told us: "Have you tried smiling more during work? Positivity improves productivity.”

No extra help. No raises. No reduced workload. Just… smiling.

What’s the most ridiculous, tone-deaf, or borderline dystopian thing a boss has said to you at work?

We want you back for the collaboration." Okay, so why am I sitting here in noise-canceling headphones all day?

Day 14 back in the office and I've been keeping track.

Actual 'collaborative' moments: 0.

Meaningful hallway conversations: 0.

Hours spent on Zoom calls with people sitting in the same building: 12.

Times I’ve been tapped on the shoulder while focused: 6.

Minutes spent commuting just to do the exact same thing I did at home: 180.

If "collaboration" means sitting in a loud cubicle while my boss micromanages my Slack status from 10 feet away, then mission accomplished.

We aren't "rebuilding culture." We're just paying for our own gas to justify your expensive office lease. If you want me back, give me a reason that isn't a lie.

My boss: "We need more collaboration." Also my boss: Schedules 6 hours of back-to-back meetings every day.

When exactly is the "collaboration" supposed to happen? Between the 2 PM status update and the 3 PM brainstorming session?

I spent my entire day talking about the work I'm supposed to be doing, which leaves me with 0 minutes to actually do the work. Now I’m finishing my tasks at 9 PM at home.

Stop calling it "collaboration" and start calling it what it is: a lack of trust in our schedule.

It’s been a week since the swearing in at Brigade. What’s one small, non-political change you’ve actually noticed in the city or your neighborhood?

Beyond the news headlines, are the "Biswa Bangla" logos actually being replaced near you? Is the traffic better/worse with the new security protocols? Or does the vibe of the city just feel... different? Let's discuss the "ground level" changes

we want people back for the spontaneous hallway conversations." i've been here 3 weeks. not a single one.

3 weeks back in office. i've been keeping a mental count.

Spontaneous hallway conversations: 0. Forced small talk in the kitchen while waiting for the

microwave: plenty. Someone asking me if i watched the game last night while i'm trying to refill

my water: yes. Actual meaningful unplanned work discussion: zero.

Planned meetings that could have been emails: 7. Times I put headphones on to do focused

work and got tapped on the shoulder: 4. Days I drove 35 minutes just to sit on the same Zoom

calls: 15 out of 15.

If anyone from management is reading this, your hallway conversations aren't happening. We're

just commuting to be interrupted.
