How has life changed for you moving from central Vancouver to Port Moody?
Hi folks,
I moved to Vancouver a few years ago and have exclusively lived in Olympic Village / BC Place area. The key driver for my move is the lifestyle - being active, in nature, with walkable amenities around (I moved from a massive suburban city). Being close to water, with parks, with mountain views is unreal - which makes the seawall my favorite place.
We’re at a life stage where we’re contemplating moving to Port Moody for what I hope is a similar lifestyle - mountains, oceans, nature paths. But with more family amenities, space, and better affordability. I’ve never lived there before but have walked Rocky Point and the breweries and loved it. But still, the biggest mental barrier for me is whether the lifestyle there is going to work for us or if I’m going to get Vancouver FOMO.
What did you have to give up when you moved to Port Moody? What did you gain? Do you get the urge to go to Vancouver often or have you found other ways to satiate yourself?
Appreciate any perspectives, thanks!
