Hi all! I joined a gym about 3 months ago. I started hitting the gym 3 times a week, I meet with a trainer and we do 30 minutes of lifting, usually divided into arms/chest, arms/back, or legs. Afterwards I get on the elliptical, recline bike, row machine or treadmill (usually a combination of 2 or 3 of these) and do a minimum of 30 minutes nonstop cardio. Lately my endurance has gotten better and I can easily push my cardio session to an hour or longer.
Should I limit the amount of time or the intensity of my cardio after lifting? It feels really good to get that "runner's high" after I push my body to exhaustion, but I'm worried it may be interfering with my lifting progress. Any tips for a newb? Thanks!
