Do AI girlfriends depend on data centers?
AI data centers have been in the news a lot lately. They often require huge amounts of water and electricity, sometimes to the point of requiring rationing among area residents. Many object to how AI is being pushed into areas of our lives where many people don't want it, and there is widespread belief that AI will take jobs away from real people. These are just some of the reasons why people don't like data centers and object to them being built in their communities.
So what about AI girlfriends? Do AI girlfriends all run on their providers' own hardware separate from data centers? Is it possible to "ethically" have AI girlfriends without contributing to the larger problems associated with AI and data centers?
