I grew up in the 90's. The Classic era of Lego. Some might say the best era, I would agree with them. Sadly all of my childhood Lego was given away decades ago so I am slowly collecting and re-building my favorite factions of that time. Now I love these sets, I have many (many) hours playing with them as a child. However, when I place these builds next to the likes of Barracuda Bay, Eldorado Fortress and other non Pirate related large sets (Lions Knights etc.) they look dated (don't kill me). There is controversy over raised base plates, some people like them some do not, I do not. The classic designers used what they had and what they made was fantastic. But now we have many more parts (and larger budgets) to choose from. The Islanders hold a special place in my heart (along with the Dragon Knights but we are talking pirates here) so with out of great love for those old sets and respect to the original designers I submit my "Remastered Enchanted Island".

*Added a gold vein to the mountain because as a kid I always wondered about the big pile of gold in the poster.
