You all have given me great advice here, I found myself in a role that is terrible for me and very toxic at times. However, I’ve only been in the role since January.

I’m thinking of leaving it on my resume when finding my next role because it has been ‘good experience’ 🙄 Will potential companies even bat an eye if I lie and say this was a role that was covering for maternity leave and put it as a temporary contract gig on my resume?

By the time I finally quit I will have been here for 5-6 months. I held one role from 2018-2024. Was laid off, took a year off and worked some part time jobs due to disability. Accepted an admin part time role in 2025, worked there for 8 months before finding my current full time role.

I don’t want to look like a job hopper, I was at a role for 6 years before getting laid off! But my last two jobs have had extremely volatile bosses and thus short lived employment for my own health :( Let me know how you’ve handled job gaps due to health issues and insane bosses!!
