For teachers who charge a flat, monthly rate: do you pro-rate a student’s first month if it contains a regularly scheduled break?

For example, I’m getting a new student in June and our 2 week summer break is the last week of June and the first week of July. All other students are getting charged my monthly rate as I don’t charge per lesson or lesson attended, I charge for a time slot in my schedule.

However, I had a teacher/boss growing up who would give students a discount for their first month so they only paid for classes attended. Wondering what other teachers do. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: for clarification, if a student joins late in the month and only has one lesson in June, I would obviously prorate for this situation.
