4 months ago I posted here about a tool I built in 2 weeks instead of working on my actual game. Called it SpriteMaster, an AI video to sprite sheet pipeline, free and 100% client-side.

Honestly I thought maybe a handful of people would try it and forget about it. That's not what happened.

What's changed since:

  • Actual daily users (not just launch-day curiosity clicks)
  • A few really generous donations from devs using it in their workflow
  • Comments and DMs that genuinely made my week, people shipping games with sprites made through the pipeline
  • Added a third tool based on feedback: an Icon Editor (paint/erase, background removal, batch ZIP export)
  • A ton of small improvements that came straight from what people asked for

The pipeline is still the same simple idea:

Nano Banana / Midjourney ➝ Grok / Runway / Kling (animation video) ➝ SpriteMaster (extract, clean, export a ready-to-use sheet)

You can actually just modify your sprite or merge them if you want without using the main tool video to sprite sheet.

Still free. Still runs in your browser. Files never leave your machine. No accounts, no credits, no ads.

Why I'm posting again:

I want more feedback. Specifically:

  • What's missing for YOUR workflow?
  • Where does it feel clunky or confusing?
  • What feature would actually make you use it more?
  • Bugs or edge cases I haven't caught?

I'm a solo dev and honestly the best ideas so far have come straight from this community. So if you've got 2 minutes to try it and tell me what sucks (or what works), I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks to everyone who tried it, gave feedback, or supported the project, it really keeps me going.
