Internship Materials Professors Need From Employer

My superior has given me the green light for finding an intern and I figured since there are at least 4 colleges in close proximity to our office that I should jump on the chance to do this. I have never been an intern nor have i sought out an intern, so my question is where do I start? What would a professor need from me, just a learning agreement? Am I finding emails for professors in the field of study that would apply to the work needed and just emailing them the opportunity in the hopes that they share it with their students? Is it typical that professors allow students to intern throughout the year? Spring Semester, Fall Semester, only in the Summer etc. I appreciate any insight you all can provide! Im hoping to present a draft of whatever documents i need to create to my manager soon so that i may be able to successfully find an intern for the Fall/Winter season. Thanks!!
