For context, I'm talking about the three era prior to the Renaissance era so basically the Golden, Silver, and Bronze era and also the Dark Ages. But also I include performances from movies like Land Before Time and All Dogs Go To Heaven. (Note: I know these are vastly different time periods but I think they all have that thread in common)
I'm very fond of the theatricality and pacing(? I don't know if that makes sense). Performances from Eva Gabor, Phil Harris, Geraldine Page, Rod Taylor, etc. really sit with me as performances that blend theatricality and naturalistic delivery and I think I only see it again in performances from Eartha Kitt, Jeremy Irons, and Pat Carroll.
I wanted to know if there was anything unique about the way the voice actors trained or the way they were directed so I can get better at replicating the energy of those performances in my own and direct my future voice actors the same.
