I have this old beast of a Rockwell band saw I am finally trying to get going. I put urethane tires on, got the band on, and noticed the band just barely rubs the return path cover. Circled in red in all the pictures.

I can only think that the original rubber tires were thicker and caused the band to be farther away from the cover.

I cannot just bend the cover out because it’s welded to the very solid plate at the bottom and is possible also rubbing at the top of that cover, also welded.

Looking for ideas. Been sitting on this problem for a month now.
