Starting Strom: 1K miles into Strom ownership
A little over one month ago I picked up a 2014 V-strom 650 with 13k miles at a local dealer. This weekend I completed my first 1k miles riding the bike.
Owning a motorcycle had always been a goal of mine since I was a kid, various factors kept putting that off but luckily it finally the stars aligned and it happened. When I had started scanning the market for various bike options the V-Strom kept popping up as a reliable, "buy it once/Do it all/Master of none" bike. Trusting the words of countless raving reviews I picked up the Strom.
Being new to the world of motorcycling the maneuverability, linear power band and comfortable riding position has made for a confidence inspiring learning experience. In a way it reminds me of my miata which the Strom replaced, maneuverable, quick, can be setup to do many things and ironically probably has the same amount of storage when the saddle bags are added.
On the highway, through twisty single-lane roads or just running over to buy groceries, the Strom has been great and I cannot to keep adding miles to the bike.
