Something I found funny about LNF

Ok so let me preface this with THIS IS NOT ACCURATE THE SEARCH ALGORITHM GOT IT WRONG OF COURSE

Ok so I put this prompt in on a Bing search (yes Bing sucks and gets things wrong doesn't show the best link etc but this one was really funny): hello games cancels light no fire

Now I was pretty sure I had not missed such an announcement but hell I emailed them begging for a scrap of info because my best friend and I had been looking forward to playing it together and he passed away in Feb 2025. So this year I begged for an update since my friend literally passed away waiting for news of this game. They never replied to the email so tonight I did that search and here is the text from Bing:

And if you click from that answer on the Copilot Search then Copilot tells you no it hasn't been cancelled. I just found it funny that a general Bing search said it was and gives variations on it has been cancelled if you just search over and over but Copilot is smart enough to figure out it hasn't been but I'm thinking maybe they should release something so Bing doesn't think it's dead ROFL

Hello Games Cancels Light No Fire Hello Games has officially canceled the development of Light No Fire, the fantasy open‑world survival game they announced in 2023 Hello Games. The studio has not provided a detailed explanation, but the decision appears to be part of a broader shift in focus toward expanding No Man’s Sky rather than pursuing new projects.

Why the cancellation happened While Hello Games has not confirmed the reasons, the move is widely seen as a direct result of the lessons learned from No Man’s Sky’s rocky launch. After years of broken promises, bugs, and delays, the studio has adopted a more cautious approach to project management, keeping communication minimal and avoiding over‑promising thegeek.games. This “Silksong mode” — a reference to the long, quiet wait for No Man’s Sky’s first major updates — has led to fan frustration, but also to a more stable development process.

What fans knew before the cancellation Light No Fire was announced at The Game Awards 2023 as a fantasy planet‑size survival RPG with building, exploration, and role‑playing elements Hello Games.

The game had been in development for over five years, but no release date or platform details were ever confirmed Steam Community.

Fans were especially disappointed when Hello Games did not show Light No Fire at Summer Game Fest 2025, fueling rumors and memes about the project’s fate thegeek.games.

The Steam store page and official site listed “TBC” for release date and platforms Steam Community.

What’s next for Hello Games Instead of Light No Fire, Hello Games has been focusing on expanding No Man’s Sky, including the Beacon update and a much‑improved Switch 2 version thegeek.games. This suggests the studio is prioritizing existing franchises over green‑lighting entirely new titles.

In short: Light No Fire is dead, and Hello Games is redirecting resources toward No Man’s Sky. The cancellation reflects a strategic pivot toward stability and transparency after past missteps, even if it means disappointing fans of the fantasy survival concept.

**IT IS NOT CANCELLED BUT BING I GUESS THINKS IT IS DUE TO NO INFORMATION**
