I’m currently in a play set in Spain and have some lines in Spanish. The director is very into the operative words and inflection, and I’m new to operative words as well as theater. This is my first play.

Since I’m doing a Spanish accent and I know their inflection is different than English or even other Spanish dialects, how do I say the operative words in a way that’s accurate to the accent and also hits the operative word? Do I just say the operative stronger?

Also, what would you say is the difference between theater acting and tv and film acting? I know theater is more “open” but I am concerned about the line between theatrical, melodramatic, and boring lol.
