Feel a bit embarrassed that 23 years in I didn't know...
..in all this time about ISO-invariance.
Reading a comment on a video discussing it and I couldn't get my head round how it would be possible without crazy grain/noise level. Luckily I was at work, it was a manmade lit but otherwise dark environment, perfect for testing.
Kit was D810 + 50mm F/1.8D. I've included both shots at the appear in Adobe Camera RAW without any processing, and then I've included the finished post-processed image which comes from the darker exposure with better controlled highlights. The ISO differences were ISO125 and ISO1100, same shutter speed and same aperture.
Hopefully this can be useful to anyone else who like me didn't know, even though I've been using DSLRs since 2003.
