Druid Damage Bug?

Edit: Solved: it’s the old mountain set bonus: apparently it will just build and build the longer you’re fighting anything with a big health pool and eventually erupts: just had one for 5000B.

I’ve been creating my own build/ to reduce screen clutter I’ll only have crit numbers showing.. after making some new adjustments to my build I noticed elites instant deleting. And chunks of boss health vanishing but no crit number ever displayed this damage. So I turned on normal damage and to my disbelief I’m seeing 2000B+ appear!! This explains why my enemies are just dying suddenly but I’m not sure what’s creating this anomaly. These numbers are never in a crit…which is even more strange. Anyone else seen this: is there a known damage bug exploit that I stumbled into or did I just discover one.?

Shocked at maxroll tier rating

EDIT: [I’m not desiring to compare my build to what they list so much as It made aware that the fun I had in building it may not be achievable with the other classes if their power creep is astonishingly easy to obtain. If Maxroll is accurate, this means that all the joy I had with this new season and the new challenge it was supposed to give us was actually just me being lucky on choosing an underpowered class and if I had chosen any other class I would’ve found myself unhappy that new challenge would still be in trivialized without even much thought into what I’m building. So all the praise I felt Diablo season 12 was deserving is now in question. I’m gonna try the other classes and so I guess I’ll see what kind of fun I can have still but at least I can say I did have fun again
In building something new and had challenges that I had to theory craft and apply to overcome.]

This season was great as it was a fresh start where we actually needed to figure out the systems again to find builds. Therefore I was solely focused on my own build that I’ve found can do well enough on T12 that I’d never call it a trash build. However when I go to the tier list Paladin name is just missing. Until we get to D; so to them even with the meta builds they can’t be ranked more then D??!! Is this just ignorance or all the other classes really outplaying them this hard: I’m actually happy I choose this class as I had no idea it was considered weaker yet I’ve greatly enjoyed the progression I’ve made and hope that new classes won’t just be easy mode like all the previous seasons. This seasons new T system was supposed to give us that challenge while progressing that was missing. Is maxroll just ignorant??! Or there truly better builds that they are not listing that would be considered higher then D??! My own build is an infinite zenith one that I’ve posted vids of before and it’s a new build enabled by the new Charm set: it’s not S tier or A even I suppose but I find it soo hard to think Paladin sits in D … I’m scared to even try the other classes if they are that much better.. (who knows how they even rank it:: what pit level clearing determines the ranking..? I can clear P110 and I don’t even have heir of perdition .. what does that make my build.??

PSA: Infinite Zenith lives. (For now)

In case my infinite build is using a bug (I still think it’s working as a set synergy) this patch didn’t stop it. If it is a bug hopefully it’s a low priority one but I was happy to log in and see the build still functioning.

Infinite Zenith-“Steel and Ice” Build vs P105

https://maxroll.gg/d4/planner/9d6pn70u#1

This is my final form of “The Ultimate Paladin” build: There’s still more power to be earned from mythic helm or gem slots or some kind transfigurations. But I’m not truly desiring to push its power more as it can accomplish most T12 activities and comfortably clear T11. The “Steel and Ice” version has new paragon pathing: different aspects and is using wolves for vulnerable multiplier with constant frost novas so everything just stays incapacitated: Purify is just bonus boss stagger or to pull in more mobs. It can be squishy but that’s where our pants can adjust aspects around a bit.. I’m wanting to try new class so I may just leave it at this. It’s been fun making this build; maybe someone can take it even further.

T12 Here I Come!

.

Dauntless Faith Set + Sermon of Steel is Required for this Build to Function. The extra shadow swords maintain the Sermon of Steel ult by freezing its initial free 4 second timer by the shadows counting as 2nd strike Ult casts. [Sermon of Steel sates the 2nd strike extends the 4 second timer]. (non set Ability counts down the 4 seconds in between 2nd strike casts but if you're always casting 2nd strike (clones+actual strike), you're not losing the timer :) :) :). So You need just need high enough attack speed to ensure you can get out your 2nd strike before the clone strikes end (the vertical slashes).

However, you must continue to move to continue to activate these shadow Casts. So all fighting must never be stationary otherwise the shadow sword swipes can activate if you ran out of Ult time and will reset the cooldown timer You'll know you're getting a double cooldown if shadow strike occur and the green bar moves across the ability during an Ult cooldown.
To Prevent this YOU CHOOSE when to pause the Ult Chain: Once the countdown timer that you have been freezing is almost out take a mob break: You Could continue to Ult but you risk losing it during a fight if the wrong thing happens that stops the shadow 2nd strike swords freezing it. This is why having high attack speed in this build is a priority: Faster attacks mean more shadow procs to fill in between the actual Ult Hits.= Frozen Timer.

Try to only activate other skills or repositioning AFTER 2nd strike. It’s during the 2nd strike shadow clones that the timer is frozen so you may lose a very small percentage if you can’t get a strike out before they end but much less the if you don’t start the action during the clones. It becomes rhythmic: hear and see strike. Do action. Hear and see strike. Do action

Use Falling Star for Quick positioning and quick crit hits to help proc Fanaticism Aura; you can also take a second in between attacks to maneuver as well as long as shadows are active. When choosing to Stop The Ult Chain; you can utilize the Aura Ability with the Glyph to take off 4 seconds. Even Though I have an Understanding on how to maintain This Ult Chain having this cooldown as a backup is a nice comfort: Also, it allows us to be maintaining war cry by constantly cycling through all our cooldown abilities that are coming up every few seconds.
Using God slayer Crown with Runes is where we consistently feed a damage loop. Attacks proc the freeze (major boss stagger)that procs the Helm; additionally, we use Purifyto pull in others enemies; however, its main focus is to stagger bosses: When enemies and bosses are staggered that is when our full power is unleashed. We stack on additional damage bonus from the Defense Aura when we proc Crowd Control. We Max out Consecration for the Heal and Damage buffs. Rally is auto Proced with the Set bonus givins extra Crit Chance as well as cooldowns for our Justice Skills.

Game Play Loop is:

Falling Star (to initiate aura passive with quick attacks) and positioning
Consecration (for constant heal and damage buff)
Purify (to pull in mobs and stagger bosses)
Never stop Ulting use Justice skills on cooldown and only after 2nd strike. (every few seconds)
use aura active when on ult cooldown for bonus cooldown and too speed activate runes with war cry

I had some interest in this Build so I went ahead and copied what I’m currently using to a build guide. I’m breaking into T12 right now and even if it isn’t the most powerful it’s certainly a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy it as much as I Have in building it.

I stumbled into creating this build when I discovered I could keep the Ult up (I think the charm set allows this .. hopefully not a bug but intended). Anyway. Started building around Ult as primary damage and here we go.
