AI Scams

My parents are allergic to headphones, so I can hear everything they watch. (They have to watch everything on Max Volume/SpeakerPhone because no one else matters.)

Its always those AI generated voices talking about random stuff.

The content itself, although I dislike it, isn't that harmful.

What is harmful is the ads my parents watch. I've tried telling them time and time again that most of those are scams, but they won't believe me. I tried setting up ublock for them but they say the ads are how they get their news. They already bought fake "glasses" that are supposed to adjust to your eyes without needing to see an eye doctor. I tried telling them that glasses don't work like that.

I'm a CS major in college right now, and they won't listen to me in ANYTHING. I've tried showing scientific articles proving things, but they don't care.

An example: I tried telling one of my parents that their flashlight was on in their phone, and they blamed me for hacking into their phone and turning it on. Sometimes I'm too smart and I'm the one hacking into their accounts while other times I'm too stupid and they know better.

What can be done?
