SEN. PADILLA, NAGBABALA SA MGA GUSTO SIYANG MAGING SUSUNOD NA BISE PRESIDENTE
Nagbigay ng kanyang babala si Senador Robin Padilla sa mga nagsusulong na siya ang maging susunod na bise presidente sa 2028.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Padilla na maaring maging hindi siya popular na lider lalo na't ang tingin niya ay maaring mas mahigpit siya kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte pagdating sa paglaban sa mga hindi sumusunod sa batas.
Matatandaang isa si Padilla sa mga lumalabas sa mga survey sa posisyon sa pagka-bise presidente.
ROBIN ASKS PROSECUTION ABOUT 'IMPORTANCE' OF ALIASES IN CONFIDENTIAL FUND RECORDS
Senator-judge Robinhood Padilla on Wednesday asked the House prosecution team about the significance of using aliases during the 19th day of Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment trial.
"Ang ating mga bayani ay gumamit ng mga alyas... Ano pong kahalagahan nito, palagay po ninyo? Ang alyas po, anong kahalagahan?" Padilla asked during his intervention.
House prosecution counsel Atty. Mae Divinagracia said she could not comment on the circumstances surrounding the use of aliases but noted that the practice is not completely prohibited under the Anti-Alias Law.
"First, Your Honor, I cannot comment because I'm not sure of the circumstances surrounding their use of alias. Under the Anti-Alias Law, sir, ina-allow naman po 'yung paggamit ng alias, provided kailangan po nakabanggit din, naka-disclose kung ano 'yung real name, so it's not completely prohibited, provided they also provide the real name," Divinagracia said.
'NAKAKAPANGGIGIL'
Nagtataka si Senator Robin Padilla kung bakit siya binabatikos ng ilang tao at pati ang kanyang asawang si Mariel Padilla ay nadadamay sa masasakit na salita.
“Ano bang nagawa ko sa mga tao na 'to kung bakit pati asawa ko ay pinagsasalitaan ng napakasasama na salita. Hindi ko pa malaman,” ani Padilla.
Giit ni Padilla, wala naman siyang ginagawang masama bilang politiko at wala rin siyang rekord ng pagnanakaw.
“Hindi naman ako nagnakaw. Wala akong record na nagnakaw ako. Kung meron, dapat magalit ang tao doon sa mga nagnanakaw. Pero sa mukhang 'to, ba't may nagagalit?” aniya.
Masakit aniya para sa kanya na pati ang kanyang asawa ay isinasama sa mga batikos.
“Masakit po 'yan para sa isang lalaki. Maging Muslim ka man, maging Kristiyano ka man, masakit kapag pinagsasalitaan ang asawa mo. Nakakapanggigil,” giit niya.

₱1.939 TRILLION FOR FLOOD CONTROL

Budgets may not proof of corruption but they are a trail of accountability. And when the money reaches the trillion-peso level, every project, contractor, approving authority, variation order and completed structure deserves forensic scrutiny.

Senator Robin Padilla asked witness Nenita Camposano, former LandBank DepEd branch manager, whether the P37.5 million cash withdrawal of DepEd is illegal.
“Pagkasinabi pong unusual, hindi pangkaraniwan. Hindi po ba? Kapag sinabing suspicious, ibig sabihin kahina-hinala? Wala po kayong nakitang kahina-hinala hindi po ba?” he asked on Wednesday.
“Wala naman po,” the witness said.
“Ibig sabihin, hindi ilegal?” Padilla further inquired.
“Wala naman, ang ano lang po kasi namin is ‘yung cheque encashment,” Camposano said.
