procedure turn or straight in
Question: what is ATC expecting me to do when the instructions are vague?
ATC in my area usually does not specify “clear straight in” or make any statements about a procedure turn.
I understand per the instrument flying handbook I am supposed to do a procedure turn, however I am told that doing a red course is also legal and is what ATC is expecting. Could anyone clear this up for me .
