Gates foundation sold all remain Microsoft MSFT stock

The Gates Foundation filed that it no longer holds any Microsoft shares. They had roughly 7.7 million shares worth about $3.71 billion at the end of December and sold the rest by the end of March. This finishes a multi-year wind-down tied to their annual distribution rules and the plan to wind up the endowment by 2045.

On its own, the size isn’t huge next to Microsoft’s normal daily volume. It removes one steady seller from the tape, which some traders see as a small positive. Others treat these foundation moves as routine rebalancing with little lasting impact on price.

I’ve been watching MSFT through Bitget stock futures and these large-holder filings sometimes create short-term noise even when nothing changed in the business. The stock has held up fine through plenty of similar exits before.

Does this change how you’re looking at MSFT at all, or is it just another footnote in the flow?
