Six days ago, I adopted a 1-year-old male Labrador, thinking it would be easier than it actually is. Like many people, I had seen countless cute dog videos and reels, and I underestimated the responsibility that comes with giving a dog a home.

Unfortunately, he hasn't adjusted well, seems sad most of the time, and caring for him has become more than my family can realistically manage. This isn't his fault—it's mine for not fully understanding the commitment before adopting.

I'm now looking for a responsible and loving home where he can get the time, attention, and care he truly deserves.

I completely understand that adoption should be about giving an animal a loving home rather than choosing a specific breed. That said, if possible, my first preference is a Labrador because I know how much he loves them. I mean no disrespect to Indie dogs—they deserve just as much love and care.
