Just a rant: people who don’t have a job join Upwork trying to get an opportunity, but to do that they need to buy connects. Everyone knows it’s not easy to find work, and after sending only 2 or 3 proposals, your connects are already gone.

The worst part is spending money to send a proposal, only for someone else to outbid you with even more connects. The platform ends up highlighting only the people who spend more, and many clients don’t even look at the other proposals because they focus on the boosted ones at the top.

In the end, people who already have no income are forced to spend money just for a small chance to get hired, and most of the time they still never get contacted. What’s the point of that? If someone is looking for work because they don’t have money, how are they supposed to keep buying connects all the time?
