Sunchokes barrier help

Looking to plant sunchokes (Jerusalem Artichoke) and trying to understand how deep of a barrier I should put in.
An AI search result suggested 2 ft deep which seems extreme. I grew them before and the deepest tubers I found were maybe 8” deep.

Would love some guidance
