42 m, heading across the Nullarbor in my car from Perth to Melbourne. Looking to settle in Melbourne in a sharehouse within 10km of the CBD, somewhere well connected; $300 p/w.

Has anyone who’s done this have any advice or tips? Or any Melburnians have any info on areas and things to look out for?
What’s current Melbourne culture like? Faux pas? Good cheap places to eat? Best suburbs to live, areas to avoid?
