1cm nodule

Hi everyone

I recently had my thyroid US for 1cm nodule and it came back as TIRADS5. I also had a prior US and FNA in 2022 (the same 1cm nodule)that came back as Bethesda Grade 5 but the surgeon I saw back then recommended monitoring the nodule. I was in school and haven’t made the time to check my thyroid again until now.

Per my PCP, I already made appointments for a repeat FNA, lymph node mapping, appointments with new endocrinologist, and a surgery consult.

My question is
Is there any chance this is going to be monitored or should I expect a surgery? Has anyone had a similar situation to this and did you need RAI?
