I have found myself recommending the EarlyBird drink powder to people in person and people politely don't care...
So I figured I would share with a community that gets it. This stuff has been around a while but i couldnt find any recent threads that mention it
I've got caffeine sensitivity (shakiness, heart flutters), so I'm always cautious and frankly stayed away from caffeine for about 2 years and drank tons of decaf. However, i started letting a little bit of regular coffee slip into my life and before i knew it, I was drinking a cup of regular coffee per day... then soon i was also having a diet coke in the afternoon. A coworker had some Earlybird in the office, so i tried it. Day 1 was an impressive lift in productivity over a whole day and i was still able to sleep well at night. I was expecting those effects to wane like caffeine as my body adjusts but it has persisted much longer than i expected. Been drinking a half a scoop of EarlyBird (makes the tub last longer too) about 1-2 hours after I wake up every morning for nearly a year now.
The big thing I want to call out is the smooth and long term energy. I think it's the mix of fast caffeine (PurCaf, from green coffee) and the slow-release stuff (Infinergy / dicaffeine malate). It feels way smoother than a coffee jolt.
The cons for me are: On a empty stomach (when i have tried it while fasted training) it can make me a little queasy. The other is, and without this being too TMI, a few times the caffeine has kicked my gut into high gear out of nowhere - maybe a blessing and a curse if you are looking for a cleanse. It's also a little expensive as are most supplements nowadays, but for now I will keep shelling out the cash for it.
Curious if people have alternatives or make their own at home?
