Care visa switch to Skilled worker visa

Hi all,

Just looking for advice and I cannot seem to get a straight answer anywhere.

Background: on a Care visa with job title Care assistant, visa received around November 2024. I have been living in London UK and working in care ever since.

country of residence: UK

Current visa: care visa (private company)

New visa questions: general skilled worker visa

I would like to switch to another role in housing, namely 3223 Housing Officer.

My question is, would i be able to apply for a new visa? (granted that i have a new CoS for this new job, and only the application is pending)

Te reason i am confused is because the guidance online says i can switch to skilled worker visa only if one of the below apply:

The job is "highly skilled"

Or if the job is "medium skilled" then it has to be in either the "immigration salary list" or in the "temporary shortage list"

The job 3223 Housing officer is "Medium skilled" but not in either of the lists.

Does this mean i cannot switch visas ?

In this section it also says "you can apply if you're extending your visa and you got your first CoS before 22 July 2025"

Would me switching to a new job qualify as "extending"?

What are my options basically. Is it that i can only look for jobs in the shortage/immigration salary list ? Or jobs marked "higher skilled" ?

Has anyone gone through this recently ?

If i look at the points system in the appendix, I do get 70 points, does this mean i automatically should be fine to switch to new employer and job and from a care visa to a general skilled worker visa ?

Any help appreciated. Many thanks.
