I want a good grammar book
Yeah, it's what the title says. I'm looking for a very extensive and detailed book on english grammar. I am highly open to suggestions. I prefer books that teach explicit, established rules, rather than lazy modern adaptations and simplifications of the language. I already know what the people around me say; I am looking for the objectively correct answer. I am also aware that grammar changes over time yada yada ya I don't really care anymore; I'm sick of people around me saying "anyways" and drawing out the "s" like it's some sort of benevolent gift to humanity. Anyway, I would love some book suggestions. Also, regarding my soapbox, if the book mentions how words are used regularly I don't mind at all. In fact, I would appreciate its dedication to detail. I simply do not want a book that teaches colloquialisms as a rule or main focus.
