First Ride Along

Hi all,

I apologize if this isn’t allowed, but wanted to share that I did a ride along yesterday with my team’s PD and had a blast. Guy was two years younger than me (mid-20s) and loves the job. He and I have a lot in common as far as personality, demeanor, work ethic, passion/goals, etc. so it felt like a good representation.

It was my first one and only about 6 hours, so I’m hoping to check out some other towns and look into other shadowing opportunities, hopefully with someone that’s got more tenure to hear their side.

I grew up with two parents in police work and law enforcement, and my SIL is a county sheriff. Been thinking about leaving corp America (sales) to do something meaningful and interesting, but always been told to stay away from this. I feel really drawn to police work, so if anyone has any advice or pointers about anything at all, I’d appreciate it.
