Need advice: DIY sump
Info is a bit mixed. Would like some input from Flowerhorn keepers.
What are your guy's good ideas for filter media? Need sponge and media!
Would triple split be good idea?
And, would a section full of plants help?
Maybe some bamboo shrimp to filter debris.
Big tank is 300 liter and small ons is 100 liter. Will be upgrading to a 600 liter and use the 300 liter as a sump.
Lets see how this one goes
New parents: need tips
Me and my girlfriend saw Boogle in a petshop in Africa and had to buy him. I was looking for a bigger fish to get for my 100 liter tank. He seems healthy but had some fin damage especially the rear fin with some visible tears. He wasn't cheap! Boogle is loved at his new home but we need some help to make sure he is actually happy and healthy.
In picture you see I upgraded to a 240 liter tank today and will swap him over after the parameters and bacteria are good.
This one doesn't mind plants. I have a hang on the back 300 liter per hour, a small pump for flow and a sponge filter with air stone. So I need a good canister filter.
Questions:
How to get his fin health up?
Can you "tame" them? He rushes to bite my hand all the time.
What's the best canister filter or are they all the same basically? I was looking at a Dophin 1200 liter per hour unit.
Thank you fellow Flowerhorn friends, greetings from Africa 🌍
