Has anyone ever suggested Orienting Timers to a client?

I’ve heard of it but I’m not familiar with it. It is a timer that goes off daily so client is reminded to orient to their surroundings, assisting in training brain to notice safety daily.

Client feedback leaving me anxious

Client I’ve been seeing for about 3 months mentioned that they feel our sessions consist of talking about things they are already aware of. They said they feel like we discuss coping with situation and thoughts in ways that they already know they can do. I’m a bit lost on how to change this as they were unable to tell me what they’d like to see instead…

I’m also highly self critical and only a year into the field so it’s hard not to feel ashamed hearing this although I know it is a good sign they feel comfortable enough to share this with me.

Hearing from new clients that their last therapist “ghosted them”!

I hear this ALL the time. I just don’t understand it. I’m wondering if whatever practice that therapist was in might have fired them and didn’t allow them to have a chance to contact clients afterward? Only ethical thing I can think of!

Finding it difficult to connect with high risk client due to anxiety

This is my first client with high suicidality. I find myself going into risk assessment mode every session due to what client states. This impedes on them being able to connect with me, I’m sure. I feel awful about it and have been trying to regulate during session to take a step back and be present rather than go straight to risk assessment. How do you balance this?
