anyone actually using AI in their practice or is it all hype still?

keep seeing AI features bolted onto every accounting tool now. curious if anyone here is using it for real work — categorizing transactions, drafting client emails, summarizing docs — or if it's one of those things you try twice and go back to doing it yourself.

not asking about anything fancy, just what's actually saved you time vs what sounded good in a demo

CPA Buddy — practice management for firms the big platforms ignore

Mod note: my product, disclosed per sub rules.

Most practice management software is built for firms with staff. If you're solo or a few people, you end up either paying for a platform designed for someone else or running the practice out of spreadsheets and your inbox.

We built CPA Buddy AI for the small end. One client record holds contacts, documents, email, tasks and time. CRA and IRS deadlines tracked per client. Clients upload documents through a link — no account, no password. It runs alongside whatever tax software you already use, it doesn't try to replace your tax engine.

Built in Calgary. 30-day trial, no card required, import your clients and be running the same day.

Introducing CPA Buddy — practice management for small accounting firms

Mod note: this is my product, disclosed per sub rules.

CPA Buddy AI is practice management built for solo accountants, bookkeepers, and small firms — the ones the big platforms price out. It handles the work around your tax software: client records, CRA/IRS deadlines, document collection, firm inbox, time and billing, all in one place.

Built in Calgary. Starts at $24/month per user. 30-day free trial, you can import your clients and be running the same day.

What’s everyone using for practice management?

running my bookkeeping practice off spreadsheets, email and a bunch of sticky notes and its getting out of hand. client list is growing and I keep losing track of whos owed what and whats due when.

looked at taxdome, karbon and financial cents but pricing is rough for a solo shop. what are you guys actually using? doesnt need to be fancy, I just cant keep missing stuff.
