So while I haven’t watched the finale, my thoughts on season 1 have shifted slightly. They are some good bones here, and improvements could be relatively simple and cost effective. 5 events + the eliminator is a necessity. Instead of the new end in the semi’s for the eliminator, grab a football and bam, Breakthrough & Conquer. Do Suspension Bridge with the Collision setup (though I hate that game). Add Unleash and if we have the budget, add Everest (though I miss Pyramid).
Gladiators wise, I warmed up to a lot of them. The further we went along I even started to like The Bull and Fang when they were being people and not just characters. I still think the female roster is stronger with Hurricane, Huntress, Voltage, and Blaze (who I wish would have been named Ember or Flame). I like Empire but she had too many team only appearances and Supernova just started so she hasn’t done much as everyone else. I learned to like Bull, Fang, Eagle, Neon, Ace and the once I saw Lightning. Like I said earlier it’s not Fessy and Jesse’s fault per se, but it’s still hard for me to see them as gladiators and not them.
Last the costumes, I like the deconstructed stars and strips darker part of the costumes but wish some of the reds and blues were shiny like the UK in certain spots so it pops more.
I think filming in the UK if they don’t want to find a place in America would also help the atmosphere a lot.
