I am starting my Master’s next month so with the new rules does it mean I need to file for extension when I apply for OPT later? I was admitted to US with I-94 D/S. This uncertainty is killing me 😭

Assuming they are updating SEVIS system it will probably go into effect for Fall semester right? I am starting my grad school from next month and my hope was to apply for OPT and STEM opt following my graduation. Does it mean I have to file for extension of status along with my OPT application if I entered US on D/S i-94? 😭😭 This uncertainty around H1 and F1 visas are killing me.
