Targa roof leak
Good evening. Picked up my first c5 manual with the targa roof. Last owner mentioned the seals for the targa roof needed to be replaced and that he only drove it in good weather. Well I ordered brand new seals from corvette rubber co and well I ran into some problems. I had also originally order some off scanazon (Amazon) then just bit the bullet and got what I thought would be like oem seals from the corvette rubber co. Long story short the seals didn’t fix the problem. I replaced the strip the went from each back window over the roof (back of targa top) and also the sides that seal the top of window to the sides of the targa roof. My main problem is that both the expensive and knock offs for the big seal that runs across the back windows and the top it didn’t make contact with the back of the windows. There was a pretty big gap on both sides. And both sets had the problem. As for the seals for the top of the window to the sides of targa top those leaked where the rubber meet with the windshield seal. I did not use any adhesive but I know for a fact that wouldn’t fix the gap I have on the back of the windows. I’ve also tried to adjust the window and still same problem. I wish I took pics but there’s like a 1/4” gap. Any thoughts/ suggestions.
