I (21) did something to my lower back almost a full month ago. I bent over to plug a charger into the wall, however when I went to do it I got a sharp, stabbing pain in my very lower back (maybe near the end of my spine?). For the next few hours, I couldn’t really stand, walk, or move from my seat at all. Once it dulled after about 3 or 4 hours, I was able to attempt to stretch it back out, but it instead just became a harsh ache rather than going away. Since then, I’ve felt it every single day. When I stand up or sit down, it’s that sort of stabbing ache in the exact same spot. If I sit/stand too much in one day, it’ll become a constant ache for at least a day or so. I’ve been trying to consistently stretch every day since then, but it hasn’t helped. I also want to stress that the initial event that caused it wasn’t at all straining my back. If it’s necessary information, I’m a bartender, so it’s not like my job is putting a strain on it either.
Arthritis and back pain are both very common in my family, and while I believe I have experienced a bit of it already, I’ve already been turned away by doctors who don’t believe me. And, honestly, I’m really afraid of doing a bunch of expensive testing to just be making a big deal of nothing. If this seems like something worth seeing a doctor about, I will try again. I just want to be sure this is serious, and not just a torn muscle or something.
