NJ/Philly Surgeons?
I know people make these posts all the time, and I've read all of them I promise lol. I'm just trying to get as much information as possible on potential surgeons.
I'm especially looking for someone who does good work with scar placement. I have spent a lot of time building up the muscles in my chest, and I really want a surgeon that will place scars on my pec line accurately, and ideally, contour them so that I can continue to grow the pecs to conceal them. I met with Dr. Fosnot out of PennMed and he seemed fine enough, but I wasn't fully confident about the shape of his scars. He described the work as ellipse-like, and I think the curvature near the armpit might not be necessary for me because I have a fairly small chest (he did say he would do peri, but I'd rather limit the risk of variability). I also might see if I can meet with him again because maybe I'm picturing wrong how he would go about my particular situation.
If anyone has good experiences with alternate surgeons in PennMed or Philly that would be great to hear about. I've also used Topsurgery.net to find other surgeons in NJ. Currently trying to schedule with Dr. Alyssa Golas and maybe Dr. Katherine Rose in Bryn Mawr PA, but I'm also curious if anyone has experience with Dr. Evan B. Katzel in West Windsor, NJ? He would be the most convenient location wise, but I am a little concerned about sort of un-neat scars (either not straight when flat or nicely curved when they're more rounded).
I've read a ton of what people have previously posted about Philly area surgeons, but curious if I can cast the net a little wider to people who might have been in a similar situation as me. I know everyone's anatomy is unique to them, but more data points is helpful!
Now that I've written it all out, it sounds like a tall order but any and all insight is appreciated!
