ECU, Speeduino, CAN network for noobies?
Hello guys, I graduated from mechatronics engineering and it's been a few years since I played with some embedded system for the last time. I confess that during grad time I used to run away as fast as I could from those specific classes (I thought that I was more into mechanics/thermic parts, but welp am I wrong) and all my carrer path has been in sales, so my technical skills are veeeery undermined atm
But I've had an engineering itchy recently and now I've been quite found of building my own systems using Arduino to remember the programing and building parts. The thing is, I'm into cars and during this time I've discovered a magical world called Speeduino and with that it came a desire to also understand my car's ECU and who knows, play a little with it (the endgame is to actually build the Speeduino). I have a few friends that work/worked in the Automotive industry and they recommended to study about Autosar. I did a little on my onw, but I didn't find anyting interesiting, just lots of blablabla with no practical examples. Unfortunately I'm the kind of person who needs to see it working in front of my eyes and get my hands dirt to actually learn things out (building, coding, testing these kind of things).
So TLDR: what would you recommend for someone with mechatronical engineering degree and undermined tech skills atm to start playing with CAN network/ECUs knowing that the endgame is to build a Speeduino?
Important: I don't want to just copy-paste, I want to LEARN the thing
I don't know if it helps but I used a lot of Simulink/Matlab during grad. It would be nice simulate/remember things out with some guide or how to specific for ECUs
