Cat in pain when eating?
Hello all,
This morning I noticed my cat making a weird motion, almost seems as if there was something stuck in her mouth that she was trying to get out. She would only do it once in a while and seemed unbothered/normal otherwise.
Went to work, and when I got home noticed she was still doing that same motion, again unbothered and acting normal otherwise. Much to her dismay I tried taking a look in her mouth and didnt see anything.
On the side of precaution I brought her to an urgent care and had her checked out, the vet looked in her mouth and said they didnt see anything, mentioned it could be a sign of nausea and suggested a blood panel and we went ahead with that. Found a slight hyperthyroidism so we are getting medication for that ordered, and the vet gave her a shot of anti nausea medication and fluids and sent us on our way. When I got home I watched her eat some food and noticed her making the same motions (which is the video attached). My girlfriend was just petting her as well, and lightly touched the side of her face causing the same motion.
When the vet looked in her mouth they said her teeth looked fine as well but im having second thoughts.
Any advice on this?
Thank you!
