short fiction children's book I read in 2003 about group project were one group tried to find out what plants are red.
l am looking for an educational children's leveled reader / short paperback that I read in 2003, in elementary school.
Plot: A teacher divides a classroom into groups assigned by colors to present a matching plant. The 'Red Group' is stuck. While they could not think of any flowers that are red, one decided to pick a plant that grows food. They though up of a few ideas like beets but reject them because of the taste. Eventually, they decide on strawberries for taste and different foods to make. On presentation day, they bring strawberry related foods for the class, like pie and jam.
That's all I can remember. Hope anyone can help with this.
