My College Said No to Lakhs From Red Bull… Because Their Idea Was Too Insane.....
One of the craziest sponsorship proposal I have heard was Red Bull and a college fest.
It seemed Red Bull was prepared to sponsor the fest with a budget in the low to mid XX lakh range.
Everyone expected the usual:
branding stalls influencer stuff maybe artist performance
No.
Their real idea for activation was crazy.
They wanted to build a big ring of fire on the college grounds and have professional stunt riders jump bikes through it at the end of the fest. 🔥🏍️
Seniors described the internal meetings as absolute chaos.
Some thought it would make the fest legendary in an instant.
Others were sure the college would make national headlines for all the wrong reasons 😭
Eventually the administration pulled the plug at the last minute because the liability risk was apparently too great.
And honestly…the whole thing is a perfect encapsulation of why Red Bull marketing works.
Most brands ask the question:
“How do we market?”
Red Bull says:
How do we make something that will never be forgotten?”
That difference is likely why people remember Red Bull events more than actual ads.
