My dog’s current food is discontinued and not sure what to switch to!
I’m fairly certain targets Kindful brand dog food has been discontinued because I no longer see it on the app and it’s dwindling in stores, which is annoying because that’s what I’ve been feeding my dog. I have a female boxer who’s somewhere between 6 and 8 years old. I got her from a family friend who honestly fed her whatever they could find, including pet food pulled from Petco dumpsters, without even knowing whether it was dog or cat food. So when I first got her, she was very overweight.
That was about nine months ago now and since I’ve had her I switched her to Target’s Kindfull Weight Management dog food, and she’s done really well on it. She slimmed down, seems to feel much better overall, and I can definitely tell a difference in her energy and comfort.
So now that the Kindfull brand is being discontinued, I need to find her something else. I have tried taking her off of it before since she’s no longer overweight, but everything else I’ve tried with her made her stomach feel sick and gave her toxic gas. And I always gradually mixed the current and new to try to avoid that. I only tried a few different brands, Blue Buffalo and another Kindfull formula that was in stock at the time but I’m not trying to waste money on food she can’t handle
I’m hoping maybe someone else had to switch from kindfull and found something that works for them and can recommend the brand. I don’t have the original bag anymore to compare ingredients, but I would imagine maybe something with similar ingredients would work best and I’m not trying to spend a fortune on it.
Her current supply is getting low, but I still have enough to gradually mix with the new. I just need to find what that is. Hopefully y’all can help, thanks!
