My Review of Universal Frisco Friday 07/03

Hi everyone,

I didn't see many reviews for Universal Frisco after it opened so I figured I would post one since I just came back after taking two kids (both under 8). We arrived shortly after opening at 10 AM (Google Maps took us to the hotel parking lot for some reason so be warned) so it wasn't too hot yet. We left at 3 PM, but an efficient group could probably get through everything within 4 hours.

The rides themselves are age-appropriate. Braver kids can do all the rides no problem, but if your kid is a bit of a scaredy cat I'd recommend waiting a year. One of the kids I was with cried during one of the rides. What really surprised me were the lines: they tended to be quite short, and I typically didn't have to wait more than a round before it was our turn. However, maybe it's because the park is new or that it's a kids park, the staff were very inefficient. They would spend way too much time getting kids to exit the rides and way too long for rides to begin. Also, many of the rides actually had technical difficulties and delays. I am hoping this gets better with time.

The "fast" rides are very short, typically lasting less than a minute. These actually tended to have shorter lines for my experience, and these were the rides that I was able to ride twice in. The kiddie rides tended to have longer lines. The only exception was the Minions Cruise ride, which had the longest line.

The shows were good for kids, as they encouraged kids to participate and dance. They're not going to blow your socks off, but my kids liked the shows and I liked that the shows were shaded.

There isn't a lot of shading, but there were a lot of play areas with water that sprayed out. There were also misting machines that my kids loved to use and that helped with the heat a bit.

My kid said that the food was mediocre. I agree. It just wasn't very good.

The staff attitudes was quite good. I felt like they were really trying to be engaging and make a good first impression and were quite friendly.

Overall, I would probably consider getting an annual pass. I live only 15 minutes away.
