Dear readers and literature majors, how does one analyze existentialist novels?

I'm talking works ranging from The Stranger by Camus all the way to Heaven by Mieko Kawakami.

Over and over again, as I start to read more, I am met with the theme "nothing matters". Sure, there are countless examples of literary devices I can analyze, such as when the author uses nihilistic diction or employs a blunt tone, but what is there for me to say about the meaning of the work itself, when the narrator argues that there IS no meaning?

That one anime edit made by a teenager (iirc) using abstract shapes and colors

Here are some things it included:

- A scene with a pool in the background but instead of water there's a mixture of colors inside the pool

- Black or white background otherwise, the original creator reduced a lot of the background noise by simply removing the background

- A bunch of vibrant shapes (mostly trapezoids and quadrilaterals) where buildings or people should be

- Both a male and female character (it MIGHT'VE been cyberpunk edgerunners or chainsaw man or something else super popular)

The edit itself blew up because it was so creative and original and a few YouTube shorts content creators reposted it a bunch, that's how I came across it. I've lost it now and can't for the life of me seem to find it again. Any ideas?

IIRC, the anime was very slow-paced, had dragons in it, and one of the dragons was really old and died near the end of the anime (pretty sure this was his quote!). Had a lot of fantasy elements in it, was very scenic (full of nature shots). I tried searching this quote up on google, but I couldn't find anything.

Not sure where else I should post this (if this is the wrong subreddit that's my bad)

Recently I've been wanting to have my house smell just as nice as I get to when I go out, and hopefully the candle smell will infuse into my hair and skin so even if I leave my atomisers at home I'll be set to go

Seriously. Ever since second semester senior year started, my insomnia has gotten worse. I go to bed at 11 pm or 12 am and lay awake until 2-3 am. No matter what I do during the day (get my steps in, go gym, study, read, etc), I always end up lying awake in bed. I've tried sleeping in a different room, as I thought it was associated with stress thinking at night, but I still lay awake. I've tried meditating before bed but it only stresses me out more since I have a bunch of deadlines and meditating always ends up feeling like a waste of time. No matter how tired I am (or no matter how tired my brain feels), my eyes stay wide awake. Even when I shut my eyes and it is pure darkness in my room, my eyes feel open. Does that make sense?

I'm tired of it. But I also know it's difficult to get on prescription medication where I am
