Never wanted to part with my 2012 5.7L V8 (purchased brand new back then) that had only 165K miles and so much life left, but sadly some stupid driver crashed into me on the highway and I was forced into an upgrade. After looking at the various truck options out there, decided to go with a Tundra again. Way more upgraded than the previous one I bought and almost twice the cost. It has basically everything I want, minus a couple of things I'd like to add:

1. Mud guards/flaps - I guess those are easy enough to source and add?
2. Trifold tonneau hard cover - my previous truck had a soft rollup cover I installed myself, but wasn't completely happy with it. I've started researching options online.
3. TRD Rear Sway bar - was a highly recommended option on online forums back then - took me only a couple of hours to install it myself; I don't know if that's still a thing or relevant for this model. So I have a bit of researching to do on that.
4. Edit: How could I forget? Cat shield. On the to do list as well.

Looking at buying a new 2026 Limited Trim 4WD Tundra (gas only/non hybrid). I've spec'd out what I want on that Trim, the addons/upgrades that I really care about (my must haves) amount to roughly 3500 or so.

Based on some research here on Reddit the consensus back of the envelope math seems to be roughly take 11% off the TSRP (Trim base price+options+delivery,processing,handling fee), account for 3K consumer cash back, and then add your TTL on top. That math would land me at right about $57K OTD price.

Of course in the real world, there are gonna be many more options already loaded on the truck that I don't really care about but can't exactly "uninstall" - for example $1350 for panoramic roof. So if I want that vehicle, I'm gonna have to come up from my original figure.

I've found one that has everything I want, except one thing: Catalytic Converter Shield (priced as a 579 option from Toyota).

They've come back with 61K OTD as it is. I want a lower price including the catalytic converter shield. Am I crazy? What's a good price for this one?
