My exam arrangements are being flat out ignored
To start this off I’d like to say that in my notes, I am SEN, SEMH and Visually impaired. My arrangements are font size 36 bold on purple paper, a3 for science and maths and a4 for all else, and I use an iPad for a calculator. I am supposed to have all of my diagrams enlarged and here is where the issue comes in.
So most of my exams have been okay (except for maths paper one where I wasn’t given an equation sheet) but my sciences have been horrific. On both biology 1 and 2 there were graph questions and they were not enlarged and so I missed these and couldn’t do much else. Chemistry paper one I couldn’t see my periodic table and I was told that I should be able to see it as it’s the right font size (it was not) I was then given a WHITE periodic table and a purple overlay 😞 . Today was biology paper 2, I do higher and I finished my entire paper save the graph questions, I had a rest break at this point and went out and cried because I feel like this is extremely unfair and I should be able to see my exams and have my arrangements, after this I went back in and had to have a reader point out the plots on the graphs so I could go across and find the numbers (im still 99% sure this was wrong) and then I finished my paper.
I’m really annoyed because they keep just telling me that they’ll apply for special consideration but I feel this isnt good enough and really unfair, I should be able to see my exams. If they are able to enlarge and adjust the diagrams and graphs correctly for maths why can’t the same be done for my science. I’m not really sure what to do now we’ve been suggested to complain to the exam board but I’m looking for advice.
